Graduation Year of 2016 and beyond = 26 creditsIncluded in these are:
Discipline Credits Required Language Arts 4 Mathematics 3 Science 3 Social Studies 3 Fine Arts 1 Physical Education/Health 1.5 of P.E. and .5 Health Vocational Education 2 (1 of which must be Senior Leadership/Career Choices) Foreign Language 0 or 2 of same language for college entrance Others 7.5 credits (which includes Foreign Lang) + 1 PT/Advisory ***PLEASE NOTE CHANGES FOR 2019-BEYOND
THE FINE ARTS CREDITS WILL INCREASE TO 2 REQUIRED
WORLD LANGUAGE WILL INCREASE TO 2 REQUIRED
ONLY 6 ELECTIVE CREDITS VS. 7.5 WILL BE NEEDED
In addition to the above credits, each student must:
1. Complete a High School and Beyond Plan
2. Complete a Culminating Project
3. Earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement or a Certificate of Individual Achievement.Equivalency Credit for PE
Equivalency credit for physical education can be earned through successful full-season participation in a regular high school athletic activity. This option shall be approved by the secondary school principal and will include written recommendations from the supervising coach(es) as to the granting of credit. A maximum of 1 credit may be earned in this manner.College in the High School
College in the High School gives students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. All college in the high school courses are regular offerings at Central Washington University or the University of Washington. Sophomores and juniors must pass a prerequisite test to take the classes. Manson School District pays for half the student fees. Parents/guardians are responsible for the balance. Skills Center
The North Central Washington Skills Center in Wenatchee offers programs that are an extension of your high school at an off-campus site. Classes are offered twice a day and credits earned apply to your graduation. High school juniors and seniors can receive advanced technical training at the Skills Center. This program created by the legislature lets juniors and seniors enroll in college classes at Wenatchee Valley College. The purpose is to provide academically-qualified students the opportunity to take college courses as part of their high school program. Any student who attends Running Start must keep up to date on the requirements of the School-to-Work portfoliot and senior activities. See high school counselor for details.Teacher's Aide
Juniors and seniors may register for one period of business procedures/aide class per trimester for either the library or the office. A maximum of 2 credits per high school career may be earned in this manner.
