Matt Brown
Position: Secondary Music Teacher
Professional Experience: As a student teacher, Mr. Brown taught junior high choir at Skyview Middle School in the Northshore School District. He also student taught 5th through 12th grade band at Mercer Island.
At Manson, Mr. Brown teaches 5th and 6th grade band, as well as middle and high school band. He also teaches choir, jazz band and an Experience Music course. His favorite instruments are the piano and bass clarinet.
Mr. Brown served as drum major for the UW Husky marching band. In that capacity, he directed the band, set up pep rallies and handled public relations. "I really liked the opportunity to teach people." he said.
"I want my classroom to be an open environment where students can express themselves musically." . . . "Music moves me in certain ways and inspires me. I want to help bring that enjoyment to other people." said Brown.Education: A 2005 graduate of the University of Washington, Mr. Brown earned a BA in Music Education.
Personal Information: Mr. Brown and his wife live in Manson and have two children.
